abhaile

Abhaile is a series of documentary style photographs addressing the current housing crisis in Dublin and questions the idea of home in specifically an Irish setting. The body of work consists of a combination of typology grids and single images that depict the various survival approaches in a visual sequence while also confronting and raising awareness to the serious ongoing issue. The number of homeless adults and children have risen above 10,000 for the first time since the pandemic and the cost of living continues to rise. There are various public meetings and protests being held across the city to try and propose ideas and options to better living conditions, but they continue to be restricted by government and laws. We need to work together to find solutions and alternative policies that address and stop the crisis.
